Food And Drinks

The current sanitary legislation PROHIBITS to enter the country with the following products:

  • Vegetables, their parts or related products;
  • Fruits;
  • Seeds, handcrafts with seeds or vegetable products;
  • Flowers, plants and in vitro cultures;
  • Soil, fruit plants, vegetable plants, forestry plants, forage plants, or parts of any of those mentioned before, sticks, twigs, thorns, bulbs, etc;
  • Animals, products and/or subproducts;
  • Liquid milk, butter, eggs, cream and cheese;
  • Pets: birds, exotic specimens, bees and others;
  • Meat, sausages and cold cuts of any kind;
  • Pet food and biological or veterinary products


It is also PROHIBITED to enter the following:

  • Inflammables, alcaloids, narcotics, obscene objects, pornographic or subversive material.
  • Any object that does not belong to the passenger. Exception: personal belongings of those residing in the territory that may have died overseas, as long as such is proved satisfactorily to the Customs Officers with the appropriate documentation.
  • Any merchandise that does not constitute baggage or that might be subject to prohibition or restrictions of an economic nature.
  • Those articles or goods undeclared that are found entering the country by being hidden in double bottom suitcases, or special compartments, or hidden between the clothes or any other form destined to avoid its control, will be reason enough to consider such action as smuggling and will trigger the immediate legal process.
